Margaret Sutherland our blind yoga teacher has been teaching traditional Hatha yoga for many years.
The aim of yoga exercise is to improve suppleness and strength. Yoga uses movement, breath, posture and relaxation in order to establish a healthy, vibrant and balanced approach to living. It can also help to enhance your peace of mind. The exercises are designed to ease tense muscles, to tone up the internal organs, and to improve the flexibility of the body's joints and ligaments.
Each posture is performed slowly in fluid movements. The class can be very gentle, but the teacher will encourage you to challenge yourself with advanced or deeper postures, if she feels it is appropriate.
There is a short relaxation session at the end of the class, this is a wee moment for you to withdraw from the chaos of the world and find a quiet space within.
