1859 'Society for Promoting Reading among the Blind' formed.

1861   Became 'The Glasgow Mission to the Blind'.

1865   The Ladies' Auxiliary began its work among blind women.

1870  Became 'The Glasgow Mission to the Outdoor Blind'.

1883  Became 'The Mission to the Outdoor Blind for Glasgow and the West of Scotland '.

1966 Became 'The Society for the Blind in Glasgow and the West of Scotland ' .

1989 Became 'The Glasgow and West of Scotland Society for the Blind'.

2003 Became ‘Visibility’
