Friday 19th June Tribute Flowerbed and Picnic, King’s Park, Glasgow
Glasgow City Council Parks Department has installed a specially designed flower bed in Kings Park, on the south side of Glasgow, to mark our 150th year. On Friday 19th June a specially invited group of children with visual impairments came along to the park, to take part in activities and enjoy a birthday picnic to mark the unveiling. The activities were organised by the Community Support Team at Glasgow City Council and the children made fresh flower posies, handled some of the exotic animals from Queen’s Park glasshouses, and learned about growing their own food.
Fiona Sandford, Visibility’s Chief Executive, then cut a magnificent 150th birthday cake donated by Greggs the Bakers. Everyone agreed it was delicious and a perfect way to end a great picnic. - view our photographs of this event here.
