Listening and responding to people affected by sight loss in the west of Scotland

Team Visibility - Great Scottish Run 2009

Photograph of Visibility runners

The future is bright! Team Visibility had 99 supporters all wearing our vests on 6th September at the Great Scottish Run. It was a great day with lots of people on the sidelines encouraging the runners/walkers to keep on going to the finish line. The atmosphere on the day was really good and seeing so many Team Visibility members, in their distinctive orange vests, crossing the Kingston Bridge was an amazing sight. Hearing the pipers at every 1K was really encouraging and lifted everybody's spirits to keep us going to the finish line.

People were there for all different reasons, some for self achievement, some for fun, and a lot raising money for good causes like Visibility. Sponsor money is still coming in but we are on target to have raised a massive £6,000 - a huge thank you to everybody who joined us for making 6th September such a special day for Visibility and the people we work with.

Team Visibility will be taking part again next year and hopefully we will have some old friends and some new ones pulling on their running shoes and our bright orange vests.

Thank you to everyone.

Photograph of echolocation training

Visibility is constantly looking out for new ways of doing things that will enable visually impaired people to live the lives of their choice. We have pioneered techniques such as echolocation and eccentric reading in Scotland, and the inspirational people we work with have gone on to overcome incredible adversity to lead successful, fulfilling lives.

By making a donation, you can help us continue to seek out new techniques, aids and equipment which will enable blind and partially sighted people to break down barriers and take more control of their lives.
